Ruth Germann

Ruth Germann is a retired Registered Nurse who volunteers at the Nelson-Atkins Museum slide library, takes cooking classes, and travels every year with her husband Dr. Donald Germann. In her spare time, Ruth likes to sew using her Bernina Artista sewing machine. When Bernina developed computer software that would help her enhance her sewing projects, we came in to help her enhance her computer skills.

Ruth purchased a laptop so that she could use her computer in her sewing room and take it to her local Bernina store to participate in embroidery workshops. Since her laptop had wireless capabilities, we installed a wireless router in her home to allow her and her husband to access the Internet simultaneously. We also configured the Bernina to work hand in hand with the computer. This setup allows Ruth to download new software and upgrades for her machine, sewing and embroidery patterns, and instructions to make everything from aprons to quilts.
